Three new snow observatories installed in the headwaters of the Fraser and Columbia Rivers in Summer 2026 to advance our understanding of mountain snowpacks. Real-time data transfer for emergency management, park operations, and recreation. Data to support studies on winter storm characteristics, snow melt rates, and climate change.

Funded by the Canada Foundation for Innovation, the British Columbia Knowledge Development Fund, the University of Northern British Columbia, and The BC Living Labs for Conservation.
